This outfit was a daring one for the day of December 16th (yes, yes, I realize how overdue this post is). It was probably the last really sunshiny & even warm day of the year, with a slight cool breeze here & there. So what's a girl to wear on such a day? A combo of all the seasons that's what. Throwing tights on with shorts is a trendy way to mix things up, and the floral scarf on top of it all gives it a spring/fall feel.
Include your winter booties & voila! There's my mash up.

What do you girls think of Mixing Patterns & Textures? 2013 DO or DON'T?

The photos are amazing, and mixing patterns is touchy. I would most definitely say some stripes and polka dots [shirt and scarf] would make a great combo depending on colors too.

It really is... it totally depends on my mood, some days I'm just not pulling it off, others it's too fun to resist! Whatever you do just make sure you own it ;)

    1. Ahh Kenya you are too sweet! And your name rocks, (is that weird to say?)
Anyways, I've thought the same thing before - for this outfit it just came down to the right shorts and the right tights. It's funny how sometimes it just clicks, and sometimes it just doesn't. You'll find your balance if you keep open to unique options!
Thanks so much for stopping by doll!

  17. Love it. My family recently moved to Japan and this is mixture is very much the norm. I have 3 girls and my 6 yr old is our fashionista. She took the shorts and leggings to the next level with a yellow pair of Nike shorts and hot pink swoosh and put on a cute little pink top with multi-colors. At first I said no way! But, after really giving it a second glance I must say it was really cute. Sounds odd, but she worked it! LOL
