Buying a New Bra & How I found out I was wearing the Wrong Size

My mind is often far too caught up in the "Fashion World" that I sometimes put the little necessities on the back burner. For example, if my budget is tight, when I should really invest in buying that new bra, I go for the shoes.. Every Time.  The truth is though, that once I bite the bullet and finally "treat myself" to that new bra, or panties, whatever it may be, I feel so much better! The right bra can make such a change to not only your day to day but the over all look of your apparel as well.

Last week not only did I decide to FINALLY get that new bra (trust me it was overdue) I also decided to head into Victoria's Secret & get measured.

I have always been one of those girls telling other girls "Get yourself measured, you could be wearing the wrong bra size!" Meanwhile.. apparently I've been wearing the wrong size for over 3 years now! Now granted one's body does change somewhat between the ages of 18-23ish, but it's important to remember that. There are So So So many misconceptions out there about bra size, cup size, etc. etc. When my consultant told me what my measurements were my exact response was "WHAT?!"
I literally had to slowly come to terms with the fact that I've been living in the dark & uncomfortable dark at that, for all these years.  If you can't remember the Last Time you were measured by a VS Consultant, think about going in for a measurement.

It doesn't cost anything. In fact right now Victoria's Secret is doing a promotion; get a free perfume or lotion (tiny) JUST for trying a bra on. It sure got me in the door.

My personal Tips?
  • Be open with the nice girl who is helping to measure you. I actually let my consultant see the bra after I tried one on, which is how we discovered it wasn't quite my right size.

Be Fabulous Victoria's Secret Bra
I ended up deciding upon the Be Fabulous Bra by Victoria's Secret.
The material is to-die-for comfy and it provided me with so much support, including the back strap.
But Remember, the key to buying a bra is choosing the right one for YOU.
  • Always try it on, even if it is the "same" bra in a different color. Every bra is different, and will feel and fit you differently.
  • Be sure to get your Correct size, even if that means having an awkward consultation with a "stranger" who works at the store.
  • Lastly, allow yourself to have every day bras, and sexy bras. Both are equally important in a woman's top drawer ;) but BOTH must fit correctly too.

What's Your Favorite Daily Wear Bra?
P.S. Don't forget to go get measured!!!!!!!!
